Coaches:

Special Olympics International and Special Olympics Utah will require all coaches to complete the General Session, an updated Protective Behaviors class (both on line) and a Law Enforcement background check to be able to be issued a green level credential for any and all State sponsored competitions.  For questions contact Barry.

All Comets coaches are required to be in proper attire when coaching at competitions

Uniforms:

Be advised, proper attire is required for any competition.  Our team's uniform for competition is:  Comet shirt with khaki shorts or long pants or our team's basketball/track uniform.  (DO NOT WEAR THE TEAM'S WARM UPS FOR COMPETITION unless otherwise told to by your coaches.)  A memo from the State Office:  "...no jeans for any sport (athletic attire) and bowlers should wear our bowling shirts with BLACK dress shorts/slacks/skirts/skorts/capris. 

Team Information

2012 Comet's team policy for fees. 
Every athlete (and peer athlete) will be assessed, by the State, a $35  games fee.  A donation on your athlete's or your behalf to Barry or designate prior to the registration deadline will be greatly appreciated.  Your willingness to support the team allows us to be able to provide for the sports equipment, team shirts, team sweats, cover ups, swimsuits, administration costs and all the other items we buy for the athletes at no cost or greatly reduced cost.

State Summer Games:  June 7-9.  Herriman High School complex, 11917 S. 6000 W.( So. West Salt Lake Valley).  

                         Thursday:  Athletics,  Opening Ceremonies.

                          Friday:  Athletics,  Soccer (preliminary games), dance.

                          Saturday:  Athletics,  Soccer (finals), Closing Ceremonies.

Summer 2012:  Golf.  Begins June 11.  CLOSED TO NEW ATHLETES.  Swan Lakes Golf Course, Layton.  Cost for 2012 is yet to be determined.  (??? Skills - $5.00.  ??? Course play - $8.50).

    State Golf Tournament:  S.L.C.  September 7,8.

Fall 2012:  Swimming:  Waiting list.  If you did not swim in 2011, are new to the team or have left the team, you are now on the waiting list.  Pam & Barry.  801-546-0540.  TBA.

                Basketball team/skills.  Pam.  TBA.  Team level is full.

 Fall Sports Classic:  University of Utah.  October 12,13.
