Law Enforcement Torch Run in Salt Lake City

Guardians of the Flame from Salt Lake City Police Department carry the Flame of Hope through downtown lighting the way for acceptance and inclusion along the way! 

Law Enforcement Officers and Special Olympics Athletes alike continued the tradition of carrying the Flame of Hope through Utah on its way to Summer Games 2021 at Granger High School this upcoming Saturday, June 19th.
On Thursday, June 16th Law Enforcement Torch Run traveled through Salt Lake City and stopped at the Salt Lake City and County building to hear from Mayor Erin Mendenhall, SOUT CEO Scott Weaver, SOUT Athlete Amber Gertsch and Chief Brown as they talked about the amazing partnership between Salt Lake City, Law Enforcement and Special Olympics Utah.
At Summer Games, athletes compete in Track and Field, Swimming and Softball Skills. The Flame of Hope will ignite the cauldron, signalling the beginning of the games and competitions. Join us at 9 am at Granger High for festivities!
